Stabex International Honours Caregivers of King David Junior School Bus Crash Victims in Kapchorwa

KAPCHORWA — Stabex International has officially recognized and appreciated a group of twenty dedicated women who stepped up as full-time hospital caregivers for the surviving pupils of the tragic King David Junior School, Ndejje bus crash.

The horrifying accident, which occurred at the notorious Chekwatit Hill black spot in Kapchorwa District, threw the nation into mourning after claiming the lives of over 20 learners and the school’s founder. Driven by its corporate mission of caring for the community and powering performance, Stabex International dispatched a rapid-response field team to Kapchorwa where the caregivers hail from.

To honor the selflessness of these community caregivers and ease their immediate daily needs, the company presented them with an appreciation package of 6kg Stabex Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cooking kits, providing a clean, efficient, and safe energy solution directly to their kitchens.

Honoring the Unsung Heroes

The initiative directly celebrated the resilience of the local mothers and relatives who remained bedside to support the recovering children. One of the beneficiary caregivers, speaking on behalf of the group, expressed immense gratitude for the gesture: “We never expected anyone to notice our sacrifices, but this package from Stabex International shows they truly care for the community. The gas cylinders are a massive relief for us to prepare quick, clean meals right here without relying on charcoal.

The Public relations officer for Stabex emphasized that the campaign was built on the core values of corporate empathy and supporting human performance during moments of immense grief:
“Our mandate goes beyond delivering premium energy products; it is about actively powering performance in the communities we serve. Supporting these brave women as they care for the surviving pupils of King David Junior School reflects our deep commitment to public welfare.”

Engaging the Community on the Airwaves

Following the field deployment, the team moved the conversation to the airwaves, hosting a high-yield interactive talk show on Elgon Radio 95.4FM.
The live broadcast served as an open platform to clear technical misconceptions regarding regional fuel quality, drive retail awareness for premium lubricants and corporate fuel cards and proactively protect local job seekers.

The Elgon Radio Station Manager Mr. Roger Barashaki noted that the program provided vital consumer protection, allowing the company to directly address local rumors and neutralize active recruitment fraud networks operating in the region.

This community appreciation in Kapchorwa is part of Stabex International’s broader, continuous Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) footprint across the nation. The company has actively expanded its healthcare and environmental pillars to drive sustainable development and change.

On July 3, 2026, Stabex International was recognized with a prestigious Appreciation Award at the 5th Annual Uganda Sickle Cell Convention. Held at the Makerere University School of Public Health Auditorium, this honor celebrated the company’s long-standing partnership with Raising Hope International Friends (RHIF).

Through targeted funding for medical outreaches and community sensitization, Stabex International td, has directly advanced sickle cell awareness, screening, and sustainable multi-sectoral healthcare support networks across heavily burdened sub-regions.

Alongside its healthcare investments, Stabex continues to heavily champion environmental stewardship through active reforestation. On October 31, 2025, the company spearheaded a major tree planting initiative in Mbale. Designed to promote a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future for the Elgon sub-region, the tree planting drive works hand-in-hand with the rollout of affordable LPG gas solutions to reduce reliance on biomass fuels and combat regional deforestation.
