FORT PORTAL — A high-level delegation from energy provider Stabex International Limited, led by the Chief Executive Officer Mr. Anthony Kuka Cherotich, paid a solemn visit to the Karuzika Royal Palace to pay their last respects following the untimely passing of His Majesty Omukama King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV.
The corporate leaders joined thousands of subjects and institutional representatives gathered at the palace during the kingdom’s official nine-day mourning period. Upon arrival, Mr. Cherotich and his team were received by the Tooro Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister, who welcomed the enterprise’s public show of solidarity and comfort.
A Message of Comfort and Lasting Honor
During the presentation, the Stabex CEO delivered a heartfelt condolence letter on behalf of the company’s board, management, and staff. He praised King Oyo’s transformational 31-year reign—recalling his legacy as a champion for unity, environmental conservation, and social development across Western Uganda.
To visually honor the monarch’s impactful lifetime, the team presented a specially crafted commemorative accolade to the palace leadership.
Fueling the Final Journey
Recognizing the massive logistical and community demands of the upcoming royal burial at the Karambi Royal Tombs, Mr. Cherotich handed over an envelope containing a substantial cash contribution. The donation was designated to support the central organizing committees tasked with handling funeral hospitality and arrangements.
Expressing deep gratitude upon receiving the accolade and financial support, the Deputy Prime Minister commended Stabex International for standing alongside the people of Tooro during an immeasurable loss. The cultural leader noted that such partnerships from the private sector provide vital strength to the kingdom as they prepare to lay the legendary “fallen tree” to his final rest.
